Second Commandment Ministries

Mark 12:29-31
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

In 2003, these Words of the Lord were revealed to Dr. Peyton while attending Urshan Graduate School of Theology. God's message was clear, the rest of his life was to be dedicated to learning, writing, and spreading God's word, that loving one's neighbor was a commandment and not a choice. Years were spent researching what the biblical text was saying to the first church, and by extension to the church today. What he found was that much of the church today has ignored or not understood the implications of loving one's neighbor. For resources and assistance in understanding the Lord's command, see the page dedicated to bringing an awareness to the second commandment!
Speakers, Evangelists, Teachers, & Church Consultants
With the combined experiences of over eighty years of ministry, the Peytons bring to the table a wealth of experiences from their life work. They are available for ministry at your church as speakers, teachers, encouragers, assessors, friends, and pastoral counselors. No task is too humble, no need too small, no meeting is too short. The Peytons are interested in furthering the Kingdom of God, investing time and effort by loving the neighbor that many may consider the least of the Kingdom. While the Peytons have taught and spoken in large venues, they are most at home with small churches and small groups. To understand more about the Peyton's ministry you are invited to peruse this website and utilize the growing list of resources available.

Ministry of Encouragement
There is a tremendous number of discouraged people both in and without the Kingdom of God. Focusing her ministry on encouraging others is one way that Karen L. Peyton has expanded upon the idea of "loving others," even unto the least. With over 40 years of ministry, Karen has pastored, evangelized, was a missionary on the Bering Sea, taught/trained new minsters, and much more, but all with an effort to encourage others in their ministry and their walk with God. Karen plans to spend her remaining years of ministry continuing to encourage people while evangelizing, consulting, writing, and spending time one-on-one, recognizing the embedded value in a people created in the image of God. For resources and blogs, see Karen's pages dedicated to her ministry.

Clinical Chaplaincy
Clinical Chaplaincy

Ministry at the time of sickness, crisis, and death has been one way in which "loving one's neighbor" has been manifested in the Peyton's ministry, and has been a major part of the ministry of Dr. Peyton. He has provided comfort and hope to hundreds of dying and grieving people around the country. For resources and support with pastoral ministry at the time of death, see the page dedicated to clinical chaplaincy.

Ministering in the Borderlands
Borderland Ministries

Ministering to people living in the borderlands is another way that Dr. Peyton has expanded "loving one's neighbor" to forgotten elements of the church. A significant number of Christian leaders, ministers, and their families are transversing the borderlands of their faith, their organizations, their culture, and their traditions. Some of them are coming... some of them are going... some of them are stuck in the borderland. The Peytons are building a rescue ministry in the borderlands with the hope of rescuing the hurting, the wounded, and those who feel hopeless, helpless, or worthless. The Peytons passionately believe that all of God's creation were created in the image of God, and therefore have value, deserve every effort to help, and the hope of the God whose mercies are new every morning. As servants after the order of the towel, it is their desire to serve them where they are, in hopes of anchoring them in the solid rock of Jesus.
Please allow for 24 to 48 hour response time when contacting the Peyton family ministry.
